About Singing Lessons Oxford

Alison has been teaching singing since leaving the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1992, where she studied jazz. She's interested in all kinds of music, teaching all popular genres and loves finding out about new singers from her students. She sings with a busy jazz and soul band, the Jazz Menagerie, as well as Les Musettes (French Cafe Music), gospel and folk. She's sung on many CDs, including two under her own name, featuring her own compositions which she performed live on Radio 3 and 4.

She studied on the late Jo Estill's voice training workshops and is very influenced by her methods - anyone's voice can be trained by using simple exercises that work with any style of singing.

Alison also teaches singing at Oxford Brookes University and writes reviews for the London Jazz News website.
